Crazy mileage and time. Audio books and Podcasts ready to go.
This a rough outline of the plan. I have reservations booked to get to the East Coast, none for the return trip. Stressed about that? Enh, more of "challenge accepted."
I had initially planned on a tour of our National Parks; however, dogs are not allowed on trails within the parks. As Sassenach was a non-negotiable travel companion, I had to rework my initial plan. I will still be able to see incredible trails and magnificent skylines of our country.
I was also driven by these three major factors:
1) As I mentioned, my mom is in Connecticut. That is my ultimate destination and turn-around point. That also means getting to visit other family and some great friends.
2) My nibling Mel lives outside of Denver. Visiting them is a must.
3) Benoit is in two professional musicals this summer at Lees-McRae in Banner Elk, NC. Remember, I haven't seen him since December, 2019 so North Carolina was also a non-negotiable. Sadly, he wraps musical number one a day prior to my arrival and does not start his second until a week later. I will be in Connecticut by then. That means I won't see him perform. I know he will sing for me, and his cast mates will participate willingly to make a theatre mom happy. Fortunately, he has two days off between and I plan to consume all his time.
Other than that, I found the least expensive tent sites for my travels from Fairview to Willimantic. I have spent a whopping $220.18 for accommodations, one way. Please don't ask about my gas expense...not yet.
Sending love and admiration.
